Our first month living in a caravan...

On the 28th November 2019, we spent our first night in our caravan. We were so excited and relieved that our mattress was so comfortable. We decided that Lawnton Showgrounds was a perfect park for us as I worked down the road and the train station was just a short 10 min walk for Sue to catch the train to the city for work.

Staying at the Showgrounds was only allowed for 21 days which was perfect as we had planned to head to the Sunshine Coast for Christmas, giving us a chance to tow our caravan for the first time.

We spent the weekend sorting out and packing the caravan and placing our belongings where we thought would be ideal for us.

We also realised that we needed to buy a few things eg privacy screen, groundsheet and small bits and pieces.

On the 21st December, we embarked on our first journey towing the caravan up to Noosa. We had booked a place to stay on Youcamp, a website that allows property owners to advertise a piece of there property to travellers. We had no idea what too expect but were amazed at how good this property was when we got there. A few minutes to Noosa beach and to Coolum beach. For just $20 a night, including power and water, was a bargain as it was the silly season.

We returned to north Brisbane on the 28th of December, but struggled to get into another park we had planned on staying at due to all the Fires down south. Travellers were struggling to get south so parks and showgrounds were extremely busy.

We did manage to find showgrounds in Dayboro to call home for three weeks.

The plans were coming together and the Big Lap was becoming a real deal...
