Waking up to the sound of rain we packed up and headed south.
This is where we learnt that our caravan was not packed correctly. With heavy rain all day we slowly drove south towards the Gold Coast. With the caravan swaying and us driving very carefully, we decided to stop at Beenleigh Showgrounds for the night to discuss the caravan issue.
I decided to post on the caravan brand owners page asking everyone regarding the weight in their caravans.
It was only a few minutes before I received a message from a very helpful guy named Simon.
We discussed a few important issues and I woke up the next day and sorted out the issues which were small but vital. Decided to just go down the road to Big4 Holiday park Helensvale and meet some fellow travellers at their opening of the water park.
The caravan towed heaps better and I felt much safer.
After the weekend full of laughs and fun we headed south to cross the NSW border and managed to secure a park at Chinderah Village Tourist Park. We had heaps of rain and this park was the only one that would take us in as the many were waterlogged.
What a way to start our travels!
